Anam Cara ~ The sounds of Anam Cara are created by Rosanne Speckert and Jill Hedican. Anam Cara has a unique sound of female vocals accompanied by the acoustic sounds of violin and guitar. Anam Cara has been playing music in the greater Toronto area for several years and has released two CD's "The Stone" and "Blackwater".

Rosanne Speckert (Guitar/Vocals)

Rosanne was born on the island of Cape Breton, in the little coastal town of North Sydney. Growing up, her song writing was influenced by the sights and sounds of the people and places around her. A guitar player since the age of 12 she has studied under guitar masters Pierres Bensusan, John Renborn and Tony McManus.

Jill Hedican (Violin/Guitar/Vocals)

Jill grew up in the town of Newmarket, Ontario, where she began playing the violin at age four. Since this time she has continued to study and perform throughout Ontario, and works as a music therapist at a hospital in Toronto. Jill's training in classical music, as well as an influence of pop and traditional music lends to the unique sound of Anam Cara.
